Development history of inverter


The development of sine wave inverter technology has always been closely combined with the development of power devices and their control technology, which has gone through five stages from the beginning to the present.


The first stage: from 1950s to 1960s, the birth of SCR has created conditions for the development of sine wave inverter;


The second stage: in 1970s, with the appearance of GTO and bipolar transistor, the inverter technology has been developed and applied;


The third stage: in 1980s, the appearance of power FET, IGFET and MOS controlled thyristor laid the foundation for the development of high power inverter;


The fourth stage: in the 1990s, with the development of microelectronics technology, new control technologies such as vector control technology, multilevel control technology, fuzzy control technology and repetitive control technology have been better applied in the field of inverter, which greatly promoted the development of inverter technology;


The fifth stage: at the beginning of the 21st century, with the continuous progress and improvement of power electronics technology, modern control theory and microelectronics technology, inverter technology is developing towards the direction of high efficiency, high frequency, high reliability, high power density and intelligence.
